Community Livelihoods Officer

Moffat Tandanya, a local with extensive knowledge of the Lunga-Luswishi GMA, brings 12+ years of driving experience and 4 years at Mushingashi Conservancy to his role as Community Livelihoods Officer. He has a strong understanding of community needs, having worked with traditional leaders for 6 years. Moffat oversees the Prohunt Community Team and spearheaded the development of Jifumpa projects.

Mary, a graduate of Mulungushi University (Land and Water Resource Management), brings 3+ years of wildlife research and rehabilitation experience to our team. Her expertise includes sustainable community development, grant writing, and sustainability leadership. As part of our livelihoods development team, Mary oversees data collection, assists with training and community engagement, and contributes to project design within the Kasempa District.

Frank, a resident of Kaindu Chiefdom, brings 5+ years of experience as a village school teacher and 3 years as a Conservation Education Assistant at Mushingashi. He has implemented conservation education programs in 7 schools, supported 5 village farming projects, and assisted with 6 sustainable business ventures. Frank holds certifications in Money Mapping, Foundations for Farming, and Snake Bite First Aid.

Conservation Agriculture Assistant – Jifumpa Based

Chrispine, born and raised in Jifumpa Village, joined our team in 2022 as a Conservation Education Assistant. He successfully implemented the Foundations for Farming model on his own farm and on demonstration plots, expanding his reach from 60 to over 500 farmers with Pfumfudza Plot loans. Chrispine is proficient in using mobile technology for data management and actively participates in organizing farmer training and events.

Conservation Education Assistant – Jifumpa Based

Agness, the first female employee from the local community to join our team, is a dedicated Conservation Education Assistant. She holds certifications in Conservation Education, Money Mapping, Foundations for Farming, and Snake Bite First Aid. Agness works with 4 primary schools and numerous community groups, reaching 880 students this year, to promote conservation farming, sustainable business, and environmental health within the GMA.
